Focuses on health promotion for the perinatal client and family including the newborn in the acute care and community setting. Evidence based nursing care of the childbearing families with application of pharmacology, physiology and pathophysiology. Women's health is a component of this course. This class has a required clinical component. The student must register for a section of NURS3010L along with this didactic course. The didactic (NURS3010) is linked to the clinical component (NURS3010L). Both must be successfully completed to progress through the nursing program (please refer to the BSN student handbook for specific progression requirements). (3 credits) Fee: Additional fee required.
