This course is a capstone Clinical/SIM/Lab component linked to the NURS4040 didactic course. In this capstone clinical experience, the student must demonstrate mastery of all Nursing Program outcomes taught throughout the entire BSN Program. The primary learning synthesis and assessment activity is designed as a final 1:1 nurse-student preceptorship of 180 hours in a clinical setting. Students must successfully demonstrate mastery of all competencies required throughout the Nursing Program (as outlined in the BSN Student Handbook). If competencies in either one of these components (NURS4040 or NURS4040L) are not met, or if the demonstrated clinical experience is paused due to identified failure to demonstrate mastery of competencies, both NURS4040 and NURS4040L must be completed and passed successfully before the student is able to progress towards graduation from the nursing program. This is a pass/fail course.
