Objective:
This minor is designed for any student who thinks they might want to coach youth or high school sports in the future. Any student who completes the minor will have a sport specific coaching certification from the National Federation of High School Coaches to add to their resume’. Students will gain knowledge in a variety of coaching techniques that include psychology, managing groups, designing practices, working with parents and administrators, as well as the physiology and biomechanical principles necessary to design effective training programs.
