SARA Disclosure--Initial Teacher Certification

The professional licensing disclosures below apply to the following programs:

  • Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education
  • Bachelors of Arts in Secondary Education
  • Masters of Teaching in Elementary Education
  • Masters of Teaching in Secondary Education

NNU's Bachelors and Masters degree programs in Elementary Education and Secondary Education lead to teaching certification in the state of Idaho. Because of recipricol agreements made between states via the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification (NASDTEC), these teacher certifications are very "portable" to other states and U.S. territories.  A core piece of advice offered on the NASDTEC website is worth repeating:  "One important guideline is that reciprocity is always easier if a student completes the certification requirements and obtains a teaching credential in Idaho before applying for certification in another state."
