Changes in Registration (Drop/Add)

ADD: For semester-long and quad courses, students may add a class up to and including the second Wednesday the course is scheduled to meet.

DROP: For semester-long and quad courses, students may drop a class up to and including the second Friday the course is scheduled to meet without the transaction appearing as a 'W' (Withdrawal) on the student's permanent record.

WITHDRAW: Students may withdraw from a semester-long course with a "W" up to and including the Friday after the midterm grade due date for each semester.

Students may withdraw from a quad class with a "W" up to and including the fourth Friday of the quad class.

A faculty member or administrator may drop or withdraw a student under the following circumstances:

  1. At or before the scheduled days to drop or withdraw from a course if the student is not attending and not participating in the course.
  2. Before the last day to add courses if the student does not meet the prerequisite or corequisite for the course.

These policies do not reduce the responsibility of students to maintain their schedule.

Students seeking exceptions to these policies due to extenuating circumstances must submit a TUG Special Academic Petition Form, available on the Registrar's page of the NNU website.
